To call myself an artist feels ingenuous, since I make my living as a quality manager and geologist. But even though I've never had any formal art training, I have been painting my whole life. In addition to working on canvas, I've also been dabbling in pottery (I love a salt cellar!) and epoxy art (to create incredible water-like pieces).
My paintings, recently, have been focused on the emotions that came up during a debilitating bout of anxiety I suffered. Feelings of isolation, loneliness vs being alone, femininity, structure, and emergence all feature heavily in my art of the last few years. I primarily work in contemporary figurative art with a tendency to skew towards surrealism or expressionism.
I currently live on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii. I have also lived in Maryland, New Jersey, Colorado, and had temporary stays (of a few weeks to a few months) in Oregon, California, Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.
